Seascapes, the closest house to the Pancake Rocks, is right beside the beach. Light pours in from windows all around the two-storey home, with a different view from every aspect. Look west and there’s the Tasman Sea, to the south the Pancake Rocks and to the east towering limestone cliffs.
The kitchen/living room area on the upper floor is open plan. It has everything you need for whipping up a meal – oven/stove, microwave, toaster, kettle, rice cooker and fridge/freezer. It opens out on to a deck with a barbeque, the ideal spot for watching the sun set over the sea. Look carefully and you might even see the famous green flash.
The living area also has a tv with Sky TV, a DVD player and DVDs. Downstairs there’s another deck at garden level. There’s access to the seaside via a garden path.
Seascapes has four bedrooms. The main house has a master bedroom with queen bed and another bedroom with twin beds. Fold out beds are also available on request. The garden cottage, tucked alongside the main house, has a double room and another with two single beds which can be made up as a double.
All linen and towels are supplied. There’s also a baby cot available on request. The house has two toilets and a bathroom. There’s a washing machine, dryer and free wifi.

Summary: The house worked out really well for our needs and was very well situated right near the beach. The view was great! The house was very nicely furnished and had just about everything we needed in terms of kitchen utensils, etc. I'd highly recommend this rental.

Summary: Seascapes is just that - a lovely house with a private garden overlooking the sea. It is, though, a bit tired and could do with a refresh. For the price paid, it could do with two full bathrooms and a dishwasher

Summary: Our group of friends loved our stay here! Many of us hadn't been to Punakaiki before and all love it now. The house is a perfect location with lots of different swimming spots, cave to explore, rivers, beach, pub, cafe, and blowholes all in walking distance. Amazing views of the ocean from the upstairs lounge, private backyard surrounded by bush with native birds, and little pathway to the beach. The house was clean and comfortable. We also appreciated that the kitchen was well equipped with plenty of plates, glasses, pots/pans etc for our group.

Summary: Outstanding views & a light, bright upstairs living area. Comfortable lounge furniture & beds. Quirky layout with two of the bedrooms in an annex that requires going outside & then back inside to access the bathroom/toilet. The space & location more than made up for this inconvenience. Loved it!

Summary: This was such a brilliant holiday home in so many ways. Apart from the obvious gorgeous views of the sea and backdrop of the rocks, the upstairs living area was used to it's fullest with large wide windows to enjoy these views. The separate cottage just beside the main house was perfect for us as it housed a small family with a young baby and gave us all a bit of space. The private back yard surrounded by bush is part of the charm and access to the beach, pancake rocks and bush walks makes this the perfect getaway.

Summary: The property has the feel of a New Zealaad crib/bach while at the same time having all the mod cons. All five of us (adults) thoroughly enoyed our stay here and would all have liked to have stayed a few more days. We will all definitely consider booking it again when we are back in this part of the country
